What I’ve got to do in seven weeks.

I’m finally embracing my move to Wordpress as my Blog platform. For too long, I’ve wanted to create my own, but Wordpress is just so darn pretty that I couldn’t say, “no”. I’ve backed up my previous posts from the ol’ Home-brewed blog, but some things didn’t translate quite as well. I’m letting it go, I don’t think I have enough time or conviction to fix everything.

Speaking of which, I’ve got a few things to do before I graduate in seven weeks. Seven weeks may sound short to some of you, but I simply can’t wrap my brain around it. I’ve got so much work to do before then, I’m seriously considering spending some time investigating the ability to stop time, or at least slow it down. Of course, by the time I figure it out, it may well be too late. So, I must push through, and work as much as I can. Here’s the list of what I think I have to do:

  • Write a 10 – 12 page paper that answers the questions: What is design, and what is the roles of the designer in society? I’m almost looking forward to writing this, almost.
  • Flesh out all of my Portfolio items and bring them up to Super-Totally-Awesome standards, along with the portfolio site itself.
  • Create Drawp, a Flash Drawing Application.
  • Make Rhungard, a Flash-based MMORPG prototype.
  • Learn plenty of of Artificial Intelligence concepts, and script them out in a text-based map editor.
  • Drill some Intermediate C++ into my brain well enough to create some Object-oriented command line programs. All right, I love this, but I can’t devote as much time as I want to it.
  • Create a Church web site, fairly similar to what I’ve created for Cherry Grove Friends Church.
  • Create a JavaScript-based, simple Web store for an online vendor. Oh, yes, this’ll be fun.
  • Figure out why all of my and Erik’s hard work on some Digital Signage for the school is not being utilized, and make it utilized.
  • And, last but not least, make the City of Vancouver put off my Jury Summons until some time later in the year!
